Commercial System on Chincoteague Island, Virginia

Problem: Â An existing pizza restaurant on Chincoteauge Island, Virginia was looking for the ideal wastewater product to help them repair their existing failed wastewater system. Â The existing site, located along the main tourist corridor, had limited space so sizing and performance were a major factor in choosing a repair product for their 585 gpd site.
Solution: Â Space was limited and a code complying conventional gravel system would not fit on the site. Â Tom Neilson, a Professional Engineer from Onancock, Virginia chose the Virginia GMP 135.A approved Mantis M5 system from Eljen Corporation due to its increased surface area, multi-stage filtering process, and equivalency sizing credit. Â All this, couple with competitive pricing, made it the perfect choice for the job.
Result: Â The system design was approved by the Accomack County Health Department and installed by Boggs Water & Sewage, Inc. of Melfa, Virginia. Â The installation was quick and the repair successful, allowing the popular pizza restaurant to get back up and running before the busy tourist season began.
